Cassie Herschel-Shorland
Cassie combines professional expertise in inclusive exhibition and interpretation design with skills in historical illustration. She offers a complementary range of services with 25+ years of experience working with people in museums, galleries and heritage sites enabling access, engagement and learning.
Cassie enjoys building a team with other experts when appropriate to suit each project. She is a keen mentor in the inclusive design sector and an active tutor for adult learning creative workshops – primarily drawing and watercolour in historic places.
Professional standards are maintained with membership of the National Register of Access Consultants, Museums Association (AMA) and Association for Heritage Interpretation. Techniques and process are informed by qualifications in 3D Design, Historical Illustration, Collections Management, History of Art and Architecture, as well as in Education and Training. Benefits also gained from fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts.
As a talented artist and illustrator in her own right Cassie has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Dulwich Picture Gallery and Norwich Castle (East Anglia Art Fund Open Show).
